Building Services Design Manager (Ref: BSD0619)

Job Description

The role will be pivotal to Irwin M&E’s ongoing growth and success. It is not essential but mechanical bias would be preferable. The job role includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Liaising with Contracts Managers and design teams to provide efficient and economical design solutions
  • Development of installation and co-ordination drawings throughout the contract process
  • Managing external consultants, main contractors and clients to develop MEP designs within budget and on time
  • Verification of external consultants’ designs
  • Verification of external consultants’ design data including review of design calculations, drawings and Revit models
  • Development of concept designs and management of the entire design process through to project completion
  • Producing technical M&E drawings to the required standards
  • Attendance of client and design team meetings
  • Management of the production, issuing and logging of technical submittals and associated responses
  • Management of the Document Controller and ensure up to date information is being logged and issued to relevant people in a timely fashion
  • Development of new and existing business opportunities

Essential Criteria

  • Significant experience in producing 3D Revit drawings
  • Fully proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexible attitude and able to manage working on a number of projects simultaneously
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or equivalent

Preferable Criteria

  • Experience in delivering projects to BIM Level 2
  • Experience in healthcare and education sectors
