Mechanical Contracts Supervisor (Ref: MS1021)

Job Description

The role of the Mechanical Contracts Supervisor will be pivotal to Irwin’s ongoing growth and success and the job role will include:

  • Liaising, negotiating and relationship building with clients and consultants on an ongoing basis
  • Supporting Contracts Manager on a variety of contracts and keeping within budgets in order to maximise profit potential
  • Procurement of material, ordering of material and delivery of material on time
  • Procurement of subcontractors at the best possible rates
  • Supervising and managing labour allocation and resources
  • Working alongside the other Contract Supervisors and Contract Managers in planning, scheduling and carrying out work, including managing the resources

Essential Criteria

  • The applicant should be fully qualified Plumber/Heating Engineer
  • Experience in surveying plumbing/heating systems
  • Experience in supervising a small team
  • Experience in commercial and industrial sectors
  • IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work on own initiative and show willingness to progress within the business
  • Ability to demonstrate good team ethos
  • Full driving licence

Desirable Criteria

Whilst not essential it would be advantageous for the candidate to have:

  • Worked with measured term contracts (MTC rates)
  • Experience with specialised software packages such as Amtech or AutoCAD software
