This role would be a great opportunity for an engineer to develop into a supervisory role where you will take a proactive approach in providing services for customers throughout the public, private and specialist sectors.
The role of the Mechanical Contracts Supervisor will be pivotal to Irwin’s ongoing growth and success and the job role will include:
Liaising, negotiating and relationship building with clients and consultants on an ongoing basis
Supporting Contracts Manager on a variety of contracts and keeping within budgets in order to maximise profit potential
Procurement of material, ordering of material and delivery of material on time
Procurement of subcontractors at the best possible rates
Supervising and managing labour allocation and resources
Working alongside the other Contract Supervisors and Contract Managers in planning, scheduling and carrying out work, including managing the resources
Positive in all dealings with the directors, management team and staff
Demonstrate sound technical awareness
Organised and structured in planning their approach to their own personal work assignments and that of the other members of their team
Detailed care and attention to every detail of a project
Understanding our clients’ needs and building lasting relationships from this understanding
Strong attention to detail for quality and H&S processes
Innovative and forward-thinking approach to each project
Courtesy and respect for each team member
Good personal organisation, honesty, communication, ownership, reliability and dependability
Praise and recognition of individuals and the team for a job well done
The applicant should be fully qualified Plumber/Heating Engineer
Experience in surveying plumbing/heating systems
Experience in supervising a small team
Experience in commercial and industrial sectors
IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
Excellent communication skills
Be able to work on own initiative and show willingness to progress within the business
Ability to demonstrate good team ethos
Full driving licence
Whilst not essential it would be advantageous for the candidate to have:
Worked with measured term contracts (MTC rates)
Experience with specialised software packages such as Amtech or AutoCAD software
