Job Specification: Revit Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Revit Technician with a specialisation in MEP systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving their own projects independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Proficiency in Revit software and AutoCAD, coupled with strong MEP design expertise, is essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate on diverse projects, contribute to the development of MEP models, and enhance your expertise in building services coordination within the BIM environment.

Key Responsibilities:

MEP Revit Modelling:

  • Develop detailed MEP models using Revit software, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Create and modify MEP components, such as ductwork, piping, containment, and equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Family Creation.

Drawing Production:

  • Generate MEP construction and fabrication drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and schedules.
  • Coordinate MEP systems with architectural and structural elements to optimise spatial efficiency and clash detection.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate design changes into drawings.

Model Coordination:

  • Conduct clash detection analysis and resolve conflicts within MEP models.
  • Coordinate MEP systems with architectural and structural disciplines to achieve seamless integration.
  • Work closely with project teams to address coordination issues and ensure constructability.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform quality checks on MEP models and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review design documentation for compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement revisions and updates based on feedback from project stakeholders.

Documentation Management:

  • Organise and manage MEP project documentation within the Revit environment.
  • Maintain proper file naming conventions and version control practices.
  • Familiarity with CDEs such as Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite etc.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in MEP design and BIM technology.
  • Participate in training programmes and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software, with experience in MEP modelling.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork within multidisciplinary environments, as well as the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Familiarity with other BIM software and tools (e.g., Navisworks Dynamo) is advantageous.
