Reporting to the Senior HR Manager the Training and Development Officer will partner with key stakeholders across the organisation, focusing on training and development of their employees to ensure top talent is identified and developed appropriately. The role will be heavily involved on the design and delivery of training for all staff & sourcing specialist external training when required. The Training and Development Officer will also get heavily involved in the performance life cycle, development planning and succession planning.
On a day-to-day basis, the Training and Development Officer will be responsible for all training matters from business wide training needs analysis & creating bespoke training for all staff.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a competency matrix for each staff member, responsible for development of staff, ensuring they have tangible career goals to work towards, leading to a highly motivated and engaged workforce.
Job Description
- Manage, administer and continuously improve the Learning Management System, ensuring training records, competencies, certifications and reports are accurate and up to date
- Produce regular training, compliance and competency reports from the Nvolve system to support audits, management reviews and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the process of organising training courses external and internal, including booking training providers, arranging logistics, booking rooms, managing pre-course requirements, and ensuring trainers have all necessary resources
- Work closely with HSEQ and operational teams to ensure all safety-critical and compliance training requirements are identified, delivered and tracked effectively
- Ensure that all mandatory training is completed by all members of staff, and provide advice, support and guidance to new and existing staff about training and development opportunities, as well as to Line Managers for their direct reports
- Conduct Learning Needs Analyses and discussions around training requests with new and current staff
- Issue certificates of completion and upload external training certificates.
- Building and maintaining effective links with training providers and maintaining the budget
- Ensuring the timely coordination and delivery of company inductions for all new starters
- Working with different business teams on embedding a learning culture within the organisation
- To support with succession planning
- Building strong, collaborative working relationships across the business

Essential:
- A training and development qualification e.g. CIPD L5/7 in Learning & Development or Organisational Development
- Experience of working in a training and development environment
- Proven experience in a Construction/Facilities Management organisation.
- A proven track record in the design and delivery of bespoke training offering learning outcomes with a tangible business impact
- Naturally creative and passionate about Training and Development, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear demonstration of adherence to all our Company values
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience in supporting Leadership Teams with implementing robust succession plans and functional development plans
- Experience working with a Learning Management System
- Experience with supporting and developing people.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects.
