The role of the Mechanical Contracts Supervisor will be pivotal to Irwin’s ongoing growth and success and the job role will include:
- Liaising, negotiating and relationship building with clients and consultants on an ongoing basis
- Supporting Contracts Manager on a variety of contracts and keeping within budgets in order to maximise profit potential
- Procurement of material, ordering of material and delivery of material on time
- Procurement of subcontractors at the best possible rates
- Supervising and managing labour allocation and resources
- Working alongside the other Contract Supervisors and Contract Managers in planning, scheduling and carrying out work, including managing the resources
Essential Criteria
- The applicant should be fully qualified Plumber/Heating Engineer
- Experience in surveying plumbing/heating systems
- Experience in supervising a small team
- Experience in commercial and industrial sectors
- IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
- Excellent communication skills
- Be able to work on own initiative and show willingness to progress within the business
- Ability to demonstrate good team ethos
- Full driving licence
Desirable Criteria
Whilst not essential it would be advantageous for the candidate to have:
- Worked with measured term contracts (MTC rates)
As part of the “Day-to-Day” nature of this demanding and exciting role it is of equal importance that the candidate:
- Is able to discuss and promote other niche services with clients and consultants that Irwin M&E can provide that would maximise opportunities
- Shows ability to manage and deal with multi-tasking and heavy workloads, so prioritising is of importance
- Be willing to attend seminars and courses where required
- Be willing to travel
- Be prepared to work “on call”
- Be aware of and work within Irwin’s guidelines and “Helpdesk” procedures
