Irwin Awarded Contract for Cambridge Halls Development

Irwin M&E has been appointed to deliver the mechanical and electrical package for the redevelopment of Cambridge Halls in Manchester, working in partnership with GRAHAM Group.

Located within Manchester Metropolitan University’s All Saints Campus, the redevelopment will transform the existing Cambridge Halls site into a modern student living environment, with new accommodation, commercial space and a community health centre designed to support both students and the wider local community.

As part of the project, Irwin will deliver the complete mechanical and electrical services package for 1,101 student bedrooms. The appointment marks the company’s highest-value project to date and represents another significant milestone for the business.

Designed by Cartwright Pickard, the development has been planned with sustainability at its core, targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating through the use of low-carbon technologies and energy-efficient building systems. Irwin’s mechanical and electrical expertise will play a key role in helping deliver those ambitions.

Design development and planning are already progressing, with close collaboration between Irwin, GRAHAM Construction, Wallace Whittle and the wider project team to coordinate the mechanical and electrical services ahead of construction.

Construction will progress over the coming months, with Irwin supporting the project from the early stages through to completion.

We look forward to sharing updates as work gets underway.
